A.P. Moller – Maersk is pleased to announce that Ditlev Blicher has been appointed Regional Managing Director for Asia Pacific, effective 1st September 2020. Mr. Blicher succeeds Robbert van Trooijen who is moving to the position of Regional Managing Director for Latin America for Maersk. 

Ditlev Blicher, a Danish national, joins Maersk from DB Schenker, where he was CEO of Asia Pacific for the past four years. Previously Mr. Blicher was President of Asia Pacific and Europe for Freight Forwarding at UTi Worldwide and Executive Vice President – Group Operations for CEVA Logistics.

As Regional Managing Director of Asia Pacific, Ditlev Blicher will be responsible for Maersk’s ocean and logistics activities, leading a team of over 7,000 employees. He will also assume the role of Chairman of the Board of Sealand – A Maersk Company, Asia. Mr. Blicher will be based in Singapore and will be working closely with a team of senior leaders located in Maersk’s key regional locations of Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.

Robbert van Trooijen has been appointed regional head of Latin America for Maersk after five years as head of the Asia Pacific region. He will also assume the role of Chairman of the Board of Sealand – A Maersk Company, Americas.

Vincent Clerc said: “Robbert has been instrumental in successfully leading the merger of Maersk’s ocean and logistics organizations in the Asia Pacific.
