PIL LNG Dual-Fuel Vessel Kota Elan Maiden Call Singapore

Pacific International Lines (PIL) marked the maiden call of its new 13,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container vessel Kota Elan at Singapore on 4 September 2026.

A commemorative ceremony was held on board, during which representatives from PSA Singapore presented a plaque to Capt. Thanabalan Govindaraju, Master of Kota Elan, to mark the vessel’s inaugural call at the port.

Supporting Asia-South America Trade

Kota Elan is currently deployed on PIL’s East Coast Service 1 (ES1), which connects Asia with South America.

Following its Singapore call, the vessel continued towards Brazil before scheduled calls in Uruguay and Argentina, after which it will return to Asia.

Expanding a Lower-Emission Fleet

Kota Elan is one of the latest additions to PIL’s growing fleet of LNG dual-fuel vessels.

The carrier said the vessel forms part of its broader strategy to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and modernise its fleet as it works towards more sustainable shipping operations.

PIL continues to invest in alternative-fuel vessel technology and operational improvements as part of its long-term decarbonisation efforts.
