NX Vietnam LCL Rail Freight Service

NX Vietnam, a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC., is expanding its rail freight services on Vietnam’s North-South Railway with the launch of a new less-than-container-load (LCL) service. This new offering complements the existing full-container-load (FCL) service and provides customers with more flexible and cost-effective logistics solutions.

The LCL service utilizes NX Vietnam’s own warehouses as container freight stations (CFSs), allowing for efficient consolidation and deconsolidation of cargo. This enables smaller shipments to be transported cost-effectively via rail, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics solution.

“We are excited to introduce this new LCL service to enhance our rail freight offerings in Vietnam,” said a spokesperson for NX Vietnam. “This service will provide greater flexibility and cost-efficiency for our customers, particularly those with smaller shipments who may not require a full container.”

Meeting the Needs of a Growing Market

This service expansion comes in response to the increasing demand for efficient and sustainable logistics solutions in Vietnam’s rapidly growing economy. The North-South Railway serves as a vital link between manufacturing bases and consumption centers, and NX Vietnam’s rail freight services offer a reliable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional road transport.

NX Vietnam’s rail transport service, launched in June 2024, connects Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in approximately 48 hours. The addition of the LCL service further strengthens the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive and sustainable logistics solutions in Vietnam.
