Hong Kong-based shipping company OOCL has announced an upgrade to its Asia—East Coast South America (ECSA) network, set to take place in May 2024. This upgrade is expected to enhance the network’s service, offering optimized routes and increased capacity.
As part of the upgrade, the company will introduce Transpacific Latin Atlantic 1/ 2 (TLA1/ 2), a direct shipping connection between Asia and Brazil / River Plate. This new service will provide competitive service and scheduling options for shipments, with a transit time of just 26 days from China to Brazil.
To keep up with the growing demand in the ECSA network, all vessels in the TLA2 service will upsize to 14,000 TEU nominal capacity from May 2024. This increased capacity deployment is expected to cater to a greater demand for refrigerated containers from ECSA to Asia.
OOCL’s latest move is expected to improve its service offerings and strengthen its position in the shipping industry. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, the company aims to continue providing reliable and cost-effective shipping solutions.
Port rotation for TLA1 service:
Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian – Hong Kong – Singapore – Rio de Janeiro – Santos – Navegantes – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Paranagua – Santos – Singapore – Hong Kong – Shanghai
