Yusen Logistics Indonesia will contribute to realising carbon neutrality in Indonesia by promoting rail transport services in Java in cooperation with Kereta Api Logistik (KALOG), a subsidiary of a national railway company in Indonesia.

As efforts to achieve a decarbonised society worldwide accelerate, the Indonesian government has set a goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. To contribute to carbon neutrality in Indonesia, the Jakarta office of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) published “Business Catalog by Japanese Companies for Decarbonization Realization in Indonesia”. In this business catalogue (6th edition published in August 2023), Yusen Logistics Indonesia’s railway transport service in Java is introduced as a service that can contribute to carbon neutrality in Indonesia.

According to the company’s research, it is estimated that rail transport can reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 80% compared to truck transport and can be used to reduce truck vibration and as a BCP measure to secure alternative transport. It is promoting rail transport services in Java in cooperation with KALOG that can meet various customer needs.

Its mission is to become the world’s preferred supply chain logistics company – applying insight, service quality and innovation to create sustainable growth for businesses and society. As a partner generating sustainable growth with its customers and as a core company of the NYK Group, which prioritises ESG management in its growth strategy, it will continue to provide optimal supply chain logistics services.
