Yusen Logistics is delighted to announce the expansion of its operations in the Netherlands by opening a second logistics center in the Moerdijk region. The new Yusen facility features a recently completed multi-customer warehouse with a surface of approximately 24,000 m², 3,500 m² mezzanine space and approximately 1,200 m² of office space. 24 loading docks provide access to the warehouse. ‘Yusen Moerdijk II’ is expected to be open for business by the end of 2020.

The new Yusen facility is strategically located in the Industrial zone ‘Port of Moerdijk’, West-Brabant. Moerdijk is the fourth and furthest inland-located seaport in The Netherlands. The location offers excellent connections with the deep-sea ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, the airports of Amsterdam Schiphol and Brussels-Zaventem, as well as extensive multimodal forwarding options to European inland destinations.

In this state-of-the-art warehouse, Yusen Logistics will accommodate the storage and logistics services for multiple customers from a variety of market sectors and will facilitate further growth for these customers. In addition, Yusen Logistics will develop e-commerce activities at this new location in Moerdijk.

At the beginning of 2019, Yusen Logistics opened its first distribution center in Moerdijk. By opening a second logistics complex in the same industrial area, the company is shaping a logistics campus centrally located in the Netherlands with all the associated benefits, such as flexibility in staffing, consolidation of activities, efficiency improvement and simplification of organizational structure.

Mr. Bruno Jacques

Bruno Jacques, Managing Director of Yusen Logistics Benelux & Nordics, commented: ‘’The opening of this new facility in Moerdijk underlines our strong commitment to providing outstanding logistics services to our customers. The Moerdijk district has proven to be the ideal choice to expand our operations, drive growth for our customers and significantly contribute to the efficiency of their value chain. The location is situated in the center of two of the most important European seaports, Rotterdam and Antwerp, and the airports of Amsterdam and Brussels, enabling us to provide both our local and international customers with our Freight forwarding and Customs services next to our extensive warehousing and international distribution portfolio’’
