Wan Hai Lines, the Taiwanese shipping company, held a naming ceremony for three new vessels on March 26th, accompanied by a charity donation event. The ceremony took place at Japan Marine United Corporation TSU Shipyard and was officiated jointly by Mr. Chen Po-Ting, Chairman of Wan Hai Lines, and Mr. Nobuyuki Nada, President & CEO of Japan Marine United Corporation.
The three vessels, named WAN HAI 370, WAN HAI 371, and WAN HAI 373, are part of a series of 3,055 TEU containerships built by Japan Marine United Corporation TSU Shipyard. During the ceremony, Ms Yeh Chien-Fang, spouse of Mr Lai Rung-Nian, Independent Director of Wan Hai Lines, Ms Lu Yi-Tsu, and Ms Chen Hao-Kun christened these three vessels, respectively.
Wan Hai Lines has ordered a total of twelve vessels in this series, with WAN HAI 370, WAN HAI 371, and WAN HAI 373 being the 6th, 7th, and 9th vessels in the series. These vessels are equipped with energy-saving equipment and use LSFO (Low Sulfur Fuel Oil), making them eco-friendly and energy-efficient. They have also been certified with “Smart Ship” notations. This demonstrates Wan Hai’s efforts to pursue fleet upgrading and enhance their commitment to quality and eco-friendly shipping services.
Apart from the naming ceremony, Wan Hai also donated necessities to a charity organization in Tsu City, Japan—SATOYAMA GAKUIN. The charity donation aligns with Wan Hai’s motto, “We carry, we care,” and showcases the company’s commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility by providing quality service to customers and bringing love to society.
