Wan Hai Lines has taken a significant step towards enhancing its shipping services by expanding its network in India. The company recently announced the launch of the Indonesia to West India direct service, known as SI8 (SOUTH EAST ASIA-INDIA SERVICE VIII), in May 2024. The inaugural call of SI8 at the BMCT terminal on May 19th marked the successful commencement of this new service.

The SI8 service aims to provide more comprehensive and convenient shipping solutions for customers, offering direct routes to ports such as Jakarta and Surabaya in addition to covering the traditional Far East region. This expansion is intended to deliver faster, more efficient, and extensive transportation services between Indonesia and India to meet the evolving needs of customers.

The port rotation for the SI8 service is as follows: Jakarta – Surabaya – Singapore – Port Kelang North Port – Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Port Kelang North Port – Jakarta. This development reflects Wan Hai Lines’ commitment to improving its shipping capabilities and meeting the growing demand for reliable and efficient maritime transportation services in the region.
