Wallenius Wilhelmsen has announced a significant five-year agreement with a prominent manufacturer of agriculture, forestry, and roadbuilding equipment, set to commence on December 1, 2024. The multi-year contract is estimated to be valued at approximately USD 766 million, reflecting anticipated shipping volumes over the duration of the agreement. The rates established align with prevailing market conditions.
This partnership also emphasizes a commitment to sustainability, as the agreement includes a collaborative effort on decarbonization. Under this initiative, the customer will finance the transition to green and renewable fuels.
Pia Synnerman, Chief Customer Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, remarked, “Strengthening our long-term partnership with a key high and heavy customer, the agreement reflects the customer’s need to secure predictable long-term ocean capacity and commitment to decarbonizing their supply chain.”
In addition to the shipping contract, Synnerman highlighted that this renewed agreement enhances the existing logistics and digital supply chain services provided to the customer globally. This includes an integrated service offering that manages product and information flows from the manufacturer’s factories to ports in target regions.
As the industry moves towards more sustainable practices, this partnership marks a significant step in advancing both logistical efficiency and environmental responsibility.
