PIL, a leading shipping company, has announced the introduction of a new service that directly connects key ports in China and Bangladesh. The China Chittagong Express (CCE) route is set to commence on 31 August, starting from Ningbo, China. This weekly direct service will be jointly served by a consortium of vessels.
Mr. Surendran Mathilagath, General Manager of Intra-Asia Services at PIL, expressed his delight at the expansion of services to Chittagong, Bangladesh. He emphasized that the introduction of CCE aims to support the growing trade between China and Bangladesh while optimizing the transportation of goods in a cost-efficient and reliable manner. The CCE service is positioned as an additional option to the existing BD1 and BD2 services, offering a more direct and efficient route between the two countries without relying on transhipment hubs like Singapore.
The ports of call for the CCE service include Ningbo, Shanghai, Shekou, Chittagong, and Ningbo, providing a comprehensive and convenient route for businesses and traders looking to capitalize on the trade opportunities between China and Bangladesh. PIL’s commitment to customer satisfaction and market needs is evident in this strategic expansion of its services, reflecting its dedication to improving connectivity and providing tailored solutions to its clients.
