PIL and PIL Logistics Pte Ltd recently collaborated on a series of project cargo shipments, expanding their partnership to include intermodal services. The two companies worked together to transport various cargo from Vietnam to Australia, demonstrating their commitment to meeting the diverse needs of their customers.

The collaboration kicked off on 26 August when two mobile houses, classified as out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo, were picked up from a factory warehouse in Hanoi, Vietnam. Weighing 10 tonnes each and measuring 11 meters in length, the mobile houses were loaded onto two 40-foot flat racks after meticulous coordination and execution of comprehensive logistics services by the PIL and PIL Logistics teams in Vietnam.

The cargo was then transported over 150km to the port city of Haiphong, where it was loaded onto a vessel on 30 August for onward delivery to Brisbane, Australia. In addition to the mobile homes, the team in Haiphong also handled a shipment of 28 transformers, each weighing 14 tonnes, bound for Melbourne, Australia. These transformers were carefully secured onto 14 40-foot flat racks and loaded onto the same vessel as the mobile houses.

The successful shipment, which involved the largest number of flat racks ever loaded on a single voyage by the Haiphong team, was made possible through the seamless collaboration between the PIL colleagues in Hanoi and Haiphong and the PIL Logistics counterparts in Vietnam.

This accomplishment underscores PIL’s commitment to pushing boundaries and offering customised solutions, even beyond container shipping, to prioritise customer needs and demonstrate their purpose of “Putting Customers First.” The successful collaboration between PIL and PIL Logistics highlights their dedication to providing comprehensive and tailored logistics services.
