Pacific International Lines (PIL) has announced the expansion of its Korea China Straits Service (KCS) with the addition of Qingdao and Incheon as key ports. Beginning on July 4, 2024, the revamped service will be jointly operated by PIL and its partners. It will feature four vessels with a nominal capacity of about 2,800 TEUs departing from Busan, South Korea.
Mr. Surendran Mathilagath, General Manager of Intra-Asia Services at PIL, expressed his excitement about the upgrade, stating that it reaffirms PIL’s strategy to broaden its presence in Asia. He added that the enhanced service will optimize transit efficiency and offer competitive pricing, further enhancing PIL’s network across North Asia.
The new rotation for the KCS service will now include the following ports: Busan – Incheon – Qingdao – Shanghai – Singapore – Port Klang (Westport) – Ho Chi Minh (Cat Lai) – Shekou – Busan. This expansion aims to bolster connectivity for PIL’s valued customers throughout the region and globally.
