Laemchabang International Ro-Ro Terminal Welcomes Thailand’s First Monorail Trains

Laemchabang International Ro-Ro Terminal Limited (Terminal C-0) recently joined a welcoming ceremony for Thailand’s first monorail trains at Terminal C-0, Laem Chabang Port.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha joined as president of the ceremony, along with many representatives from the logistics industry such as Pol. Sub-Lt. Montri Rerkchamnian, Director of Laem Chabang Port, Dr. Theparak Leungsuwan D.B.A., President/CEO, Namyong Terminal Public Company, and Mr. Yusuke Sasada, President for  Laemchabang International Ro-Ro Terminal Limited (Terminal C-0.)

Controlled by CITYFLO 650 autonomous system and equipped with surveillance cameras, communication buttons for train control officers, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits, the Bombardier Inovia Monorail 300 trains from Bombardier Company Transportation Holdings (Thailand) Co., Ltd. will operate on the BTS Pink Line, Khae Rai – Min Buri, and Yellow Line, Lat Phrao – Samrong.

Bombardier will continue to deliver monorail trains to Thailand until 2021, with 30 trains scheduled for the BTS Yellow Line and 42 trains for the BTS Pink Line. The BTS Pink and Yellow Lines will be fully open for service in 2022.
