Nippon Express has opened a Global NVOCC Center (GNC) to strengthen its ocean cargo forwarding business.

Adopting a business-based approach compatible with the growth strategy for core businesses outlined in the “Nippon Express Group Business Plan 2023 – ‘Dynamic Growth'”, Nippon Express has positioned forwarding as a core business and is aiming to expand its handling of ocean cargo as a base cargo.

Nippon Express has established a presence in NVOCC ocean cargo forwarding to and from Japan via its Japan-centered business infrastructure and customer base, but it is seeking to bolster its ocean cargo forwarding operations globally for the sake of further business growth.

Some of the operations being carried out by Group companies overseas will be consolidated into the GNC, which will be developing price-competitive NVOCC products, providing new services in combination with logistics services offered overseas, and supporting the improvement and optimization of service quality.

Nippon Express is looking to expand its ocean cargo forwarding business by enhancing its functions through the GNC and by providing high-quality international maritime transport services to both Japanese and non-Japanese companies.
