MSC has announced revisions to its Asia to North America West Coast network in response to current Transpacific trade market conditions. Specifically, MSC will suspend its Mustang service, which was recently added to the Pacific Northwest, and redeploy the tonnage to other global trades.
To maintain connectivity for Busan (eastbound), Ningbo, and Portland, MSC will make the following changes to its Chinook and Orient services:
- Orient Service: Busan and Portland will be added to the Orient service, with a new rotation of Qingdao – Ningbo – Shanghai – Busan – Long Beach – Oakland – Portland – Busan.
- Chinook Service: Ningbo will be added to the Chinook service, resulting in a rotation of Vung Tau – Haiphong – Yantian – Ningbo – Shanghai – Qingdao – Busan – Seattle – Prince Rupert – Vancouver – Busan.
The other two Transpacific services, Pearl and Sentosa, will remain unchanged:
- Pearl: Vung Tau – Haiphong – Nansha – Hong Kong – Yantian – Xiamen – Long Beach – Oakland – Kaohsiung.
- Sentosa: Port Klang – Singapore – Laem Chabang – Vung Tau – Busan – Long Beach – Oakland – Yokohama – Ningbo – Shanghai – Xiamen – Yantian – Singapore.
