Iris Logistics, Inc. is set to launch an express intra-Asia service in August that will link the Philippines directly to Thailand and Vietnam, offering fast, flexible, convenient, and cost-effective ocean transportation to shippers in Southeast Asia.
The new intra-Asia service will begin after MV Iris Paoay, a 1,118 TEU vessel, arrives in Manila on August 25 from Los Angeles, California. The service will commence with the aforementioned vessel calling Thailand every 14 days on the following port rotation:
Manila[1] – Bangkok Port 2[2] – Laem Chabang[3] – Ho Chi Minh[4] – Manila
- [1] Asian Terminals Incorporated (ATI) – Manila South Harbour
- [2] Thai Connectivity Terminal (TCT)
- [3] ESCO
- [4] SP-ITC
The vessel will depart Manila South Harbour on August 26 and call General Santos and Davao ports before sailing to Bangkok, arriving there on September 6. It will leave Bangkok on September 7 and arrive on the same day at Laem Chabang in Chonburi province, 130 km southeast of Bangkok. Then, it will depart for Ho Chi Minh the next day and arrive in the southern Vietnamese port on September 11, before departing Ho Chi Minh on September 12 and arriving at Manila South Harbour on September 15.
Iris Logistics intends to phase in two more vessels on the service route starting in the second half of 2023.

Iris Logistics’ Ambitious Goals
Iris Logistics had previously used MV Iris Paoay for its US service that began in September 2021 in response to local exporters’ clamour after experiencing shipping difficulties due to COVID-19-induced supply chain and logistics issues. Consequently, MV Iris Paoay was the first Philippine-flag container vessel to sail directly to the US in about 30 years.
The latest success of Iris Logistics has proven its management team’s quality and business acumen. Currently, in its tenth month of international operations, Iris Logistics has succeeded in providing “above-the-market” services allowing the company to gain further customer confidence. The company’s future expansion plans in shipping and logistics services are also in line with its ambitions to rise as a significant player in intra-Asia trade in general and the Thai logistics industry in particular.
