GUANG FU Laem Chabang Port Thailand

Laem Chabang port in Thailand witnessed a remarkable milestone as the heavy lift vessel “GUANG FU” made its maiden call on April 29th. The vessel, with a capacity of 62,000 DWT, is operated by COSCO Shipping Specialized Carrier Co., Ltd. and arrived at the “LRT C0 Terminal” to discharge cargo for the ASEAN’s largest wind power project.

The entire ship carried equipment for “POWERCHINA”, the EPC contractor on the 600 MW Monsoon Wind Power Project in Lao PDR. This included 12 sets of wind turbines and BOP equipment that were loaded at Changshu Xinghua Terminal, China. The cargo was then transported to Laem Chabang International RO-RO Terminal (C0), Thailand, for discharge and storage before being transported inland to Southern Laos, where the project is located.

This marks the third voyage carried out by COSCO Shipping Specialized Carrier as a full-service logistics provider for the Monsoon Wind Power Project in Laos. The first two voyages were carried out by MV Da Qing Xia and MV Da Cai Yun, respectively, and all cargo from these two vessels has been delivered to on-site storage yards in Laos.

The arrival of “GUANG FU” and the successful delivery of the cargo mark a significant milestone for the project and for COSCO Shipping Specialized Carrier, which continues to provide exceptional services for large-scale projects in the region.
