Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) has demonstrated its commitment to the Sultanate of Oman by naming one of its vessels ESL Oman. This marks the first time a ship has been named after the Sultanate.
The announcement was made during the grand opening event of Emirates Shipping Line Agency (Muscat) LLC, held on October 27th in Muscat. ESL’s Chief Executive Officer, Till Ole Barrelet, made the pledge to name a vessel after Oman, and just over a month later, on December 3rd, the ESL Oman arrived at Hutchison Ports Sohar.
The ESL Oman is deployed on one of ESL’s flagship services, the Cosmos (CMX) service, which connects major ports in the Far East, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. The service rotation includes:
Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Port Klang – Singapore – Jebel Ali – Sohar
This gesture underscores ESL’s dedication to driving trade growth in the region and connecting Oman to more opportunities with its customers and partners worldwide.
