DP World, a global leader in logistics and trade, has announced the inauguration of 51 new freight forwarding offices across Asia Pacific (APAC). This expansion aims to reinforce the company’s position as a comprehensive supply chain solutions provider, catering to the intricate demands of the region’s rapidly growing logistics market.

The extended network, with a strategic focus on air and ocean freight, leverages DP World’s unparalleled infrastructure encompassing ports, terminals, warehouses, trucks, rail, and vessels. By harnessing these resources, businesses can streamline their supply chains and navigate the complexities of the market with greater ease.

Glen Hilton, CEO & Managing Director, Asia Pacific, DP World, emphasized the importance of supporting businesses in the current era of global trade marked by geopolitical and economic uncertainties. He stressed the company’s commitment to helping businesses achieve enhanced market access and streamlined but resilient logistics, leveraging their extensive experience in managing ports and terminals.

This significant expansion allows DP World to offer a more comprehensive suite of logistics services, tailored to meet the unique needs of customers across various sectors. Customers can now tap into the expanded presence of DP World in cities where the company already operates a port or terminal facility, facilitating a more seamless flow of goods.

The comprehensive range of logistics services provided by DP World includes order and origin management, port handling, freight management for ocean and air, and at-destination services such as customs clearance and bonded warehousing services. Additionally, the company offers a variety of value-added services including trade finance, commodity-specific services, and advanced hubs.

To streamline access to these services, DP World has introduced a single digital window supported by an integrated Global Services Centre manned by over 500 IT specialists. This advanced digital system enables customers to track their goods in real time and manage their cargo journey with ease.

The expansion of DP World’s footprint in the APAC region is strategically aligned with the area’s robust growth prospects. As the largest and fastest-growing market for outsourcing logistics in the world, APAC is projected to account for 40% of global revenues for contract logistics services by 2027. With over 5% growth in both exports and imports, APAC is currently the fastest-growing region globally.

In addition to widening its APAC freight forwarding network, DP World has also strengthened its capabilities in key areas of logistics across the region. This includes a US$50 million investment to develop DP World Busan Logistics Centre in Busan New Port, the acquisition of Savan Logistics in Laos, and the introduction of a daily rail service connecting Sydney’s Port Botany to Yennora Intermodal Terminal in Australia.

DP World’s robust expansion in the APAC region underscores its commitment to providing end-to-end supply chain solutions and supporting businesses in achieving their growth ambitions in this dynamic market.
