deugro Celebrates 100 Years

Heavy lift and project cargo specialist deugro is strengthening its focus on the green energy sector as it marks the start of its 2024 centenary celebrations at Breakbulk Middle East in Dubai, UAE, from 12 to 13 February 2024.

Family-run deugro, established in 1924 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, has steadily increased its focus on new industries in recent years.

“The deugro team could not be more pleased to be marking the start of this milestone anniversary in a region that perfectly underscores the rapidly evolving and growing renewables sector,” said Steffen Behrens, President Middle East, deugro.

“Doubling down on our efforts to support the booming global energy transition landscape is a natural next step in our evolution, and we are excited to be able to provide the technical skills, specialist assets, and wealth of experience to support the industry at this critical time.”

deugro, which first entered the Middle East market in Saudi Arabia in June 1982, today has eight regional offices in five countries, with the additional countries being the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar.

In addition to supporting several large solar farms across the Middle East, deugro recently completed transporting several super heavy lift cargoes for the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in Saudi Arabia, which will power green ammonia production for export in the end.

Thomas Wylie, Head of Global Strategic Projects, deugro, added: “We remain more committed than ever to driving innovation and supply chain and logistics excellence, capitalising on more than a century of expertise, all aimed at ensuring that our clients everywhere on the planet can exceed their growth ambitions and overcome the challenges of today.”
