DACHSER Warehouse Waddinxveen

DACHSER has opened a new warehouse at its Dutch site in Waddinxveen near Rotterdam. With space for 10,000 pallets, the new 6,900-square-meter storage facility increases the site’s capacity to 55,000 pallet spaces.

This warehouse is DACHSER’s fourth building in the strategically favourable industrial area of Waddinxveen. It is opposite the warehouse for contract logistics, which opened at the end of 2020. Therefore, it is directly connected to the logistics provider’s distribution network. Transports depart daily from Waddinxveen to all parts of Europe.

The new warehouse has three halls, an area for value-added services, two office spaces, and ample parking. It also has large windows that let in plenty of daylight. Solar panels with a production capacity of 400 kW were installed on the roof. The two office areas are heated by a heat pump. In addition, both the offices and the three halls are fully equipped with LED lighting.

55,000 pallet spaces for contract logistics

Edwin Vermeulen, General Manager of DACHSER Waddinxveen, says, “DACHSER opened its first branch in the west of the Netherlands in Waddinxveen in 2007. Back then, with just 3,000 square meters and 16 employees, nobody could have imagined that we would open our fourth logistics building here in 2024.”

The new warehouse will increase the total storage capacity in Waddinxveen to 55,000 pallet spaces. With this expansion, DACHSER can keep up with the increasing demand for storage space. “Our current customers know that DACHSER stands for stability and flexibility, and we want to maintain this in the future. With the expansion, we are equipped for further growth and can offer the service our customers expect from us,” says Edwin Vermeulen.
