On November 14, COSCO SHIPPING announced the commencement of trial operations at Chancay Port in Peru, marking a significant milestone for the company. This event was highlighted by the successful unloading of new energy vehicles and other transportation products from the vessels M.V. COSCO SHIPPING HONOR and M.V. COSCO TENG FEI.

The M.V. COSCO TENG FEI made its maiden voyage from Shanghai, carrying a total of 2,756 vehicles destined for Chancay and other locations in South America. This journey inaugurates COSCO SHIPPING’s new service connecting the Far East directly to the West Coast of South America, enhancing the automobile carrier fleet’s capabilities.

In parallel, the M.V. COSCO SHIPPING HONOR effectively discharged a range of equipment and container frames in a single day prior to its departure from Chancay Port. This development symbolizes the official launch of a vital liner service by Yuanhai Car Carrier, aimed at improving transportation efficiency for commercial vehicles and major equipment between China and Peru.

This new route marks the company’s fourth liner service, following successful routes established to the Persian Gulf, Southeast Africa, and Europe. The service offers a reliable monthly schedule, focusing on key ports such as Chancay, Peru, and San Antonio, Chile, while also including stops in Colombia, Ecuador, and other regional countries to cater to market demands.

In promoting the direct “Shanghai-Chancay” route, Yuanhai Car Carrier is dedicated to enhancing the automotive logistics supply chain around Chancay Port. The company plans to provide customized solutions that encompass warehousing, Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), distribution, and a variety of value-added services to meet the diverse needs of its customers.

In addition to these efforts, the company is leveraging local resources to develop a multimodal distribution network that connects sea, road, and rail transport. This strategic initiative will facilitate the distribution of vehicles throughout South America, delivering comprehensive “port-to-door” terminal services tailored to clients’ specific requirements.
