On July 21, the delivery ceremony for the first A350 jetliner of Airbus Tianjin Wide-Body Aircraft Completion and Delivery Center (C&DC) was held in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone (TPFTZ). COSCO SHIPPING was invited to attend the event as the sole logistics service supplier.
The A350 Family is the latest twin-engine long-range wide-body airliner developed and produced by Airbus. The Airbus Tianjin Wide-body Aircraft Completion and Delivery Center is responsible for cabin installation, painting, and production flight testing, as well as customer acceptance and aircraft delivery. It is co-located at the same site with the A320 Family Asia Final Assembly Line (FAL) and the Airbus Tianjin Delivery Center.
In early 2021, COSCO SHIPPING Project Logistics bid for logistics service providers of the Airbus Tianjin Wide-body Aircraft Completion and Delivery Center. As the bid winner, it is responsible for providing door-to-door transportation of relevant cargoes for Airbus from Toulouse, France, to Tianjin, China.
After the project’s launch, maritime shipping and land transportation in Europe were greatly affected by the pandemic. Fortunately, the global task force working on the project took extraordinary measures to address the challenge. COSCO SHIPPING coordinated all parties involved and successfully completed the transportation mission that guaranteed the perfect delivery of the A350.
It is reported that this year Airbus’ deliveries to China represent 21.5% of its total jetliner production worldwide as it has planned to deliver five A350 jetliners to Chinese airlines this year. COSCO SHIPPING will follow the needs of its customers, working hand in hand with them to provide better logistics services and contribute to the global aviation logistics supply chain service ecosystem.
The Airbus Tianjin FAL, which was put into operation in 2008 and later renamed the A320 Family Asian FAL, began delivering jetliners to airlines in Asia. In November 2007, COSCO SHIPPING was awarded the contract as the sole transportation service provider for the transoceanic transportation of large parts and all components for the A320 Family FAL in Tianjin. Since then, it has completed 550 safe and successful deliveries for Airbus.
