Cai Mep International Terminal (CMIT) was thrilled to receive the ZIM FALCON on the morning of July 17, 2024, marking the vessel’s inaugural call on the ZIM eCommerce Xpress (ZEX) service to the US West Coast. The efficient, safe, and swift operations at CMIT ensured that the ZIM FALCON was able to swiftly continue its journey after a brief 12-hour berthing.
ZEX, a dedicated service catering to e-commerce trade out of South China, provides a competitive shipping alternative to airfreight. Notably, the service boasts a transit time of just 18 days from Cai Mep to Los Angeles, making it the fastest shipping route from Vietnam to the US. Vietnamese exporters, particularly those prioritizing reliable and superior transit times, stand to benefit significantly from this unique service offering. ZEX complements other exemplary shipping services of ZIM presently calling Cai Mep, including the ZIM 7 Star (Z7S), ZXB Express Baltimore (ZXB), and the ZIM Mediterranean Premium (ZMP) services. With this expansive footprint, Cai Mep – and specifically CMIT, which hosts most of ZIM’s services – has emerged as a burgeoning hub for ZIM’s transhipment operations in the Southeast Asia region.
ZIM, the world’s 9th largest shipping line boasting a total fleet capacity of over 722,000 TEUs, offers a diverse service network for customers from Cai Mep to international markets.
