CMA CGM has announced the launch of its new SEAS 3 service, a strategic initiative designed to streamline shipments from the Far East to the East Coast of South America (ECSA). This new service is a direct response to the evolving market dynamics within the region, and it reinforces CMA CGM’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality service while supporting the growth of its customers’ businesses.
The SEAS 3 service features a comprehensive rotation, beginning in Shanghai, and proceeding through Shekou, Vung Tau, Singapore, before reaching Santos, and then returning via Singapore to Shanghai. Notably, the service offers an express direct connection to the Santos Brasil Tecon Terminal, facilitating efficient shipments from Central and South China. Additionally, a unique direct call at Vung Tau in Vietnam allows for streamlined connections via Singapore for shipments originating from Southeast Asia.
To enhance connectivity further, the Santos hub will utilize a reliable feedering network, connecting to Mercosul services. This includes the Braco service for Northeast destinations and the Plata service for the Argentina and Uruguay markets. Furthermore, Caribbean destinations will be accessible through the Brazex Northbound CMA CGM service. The service is designed for strong reliability, operating on a direct, fixed-day weekly schedule, and utilizing a fleet of 11 vessels, with 7 operated by CMA CGM and 4 by Maersk. The inaugural departure of the “CMA CGM NANSHA” is scheduled for April 8th, 2025, departing from Shanghai.
