On 1 December, Bolloré Logistics opened its first Automotive Competence Center at its agency in Le Mans, France. Coordinated by a team of experts bringing together expertise across the automotive supply chain, the new organization addresses the company’s carmaker and equipment-supplier customers and harnesses the know-how acquired over more than 20 years in intercontinental inbound/outbound and after-sales logistics.
The main aims of the Bolloré Logistics’ Automotive Competence Center are to support the implementation of multimodal transport (air, maritime, road, rail), manage freight capacities on the basis of specific agreements between Bolloré Logistics and its panel of transport companies, manage goods flows in real-time with 24-7 alert management, improve the company’s performance and roll out harmonized and optimized processes with customers and partners.
Further objectives are to coordinate end-to-end operations and align processes in the various regions of the Bolloré Logistics network, in particular against the backdrop of a transport capacity shortage resulting from the health crisis.
Jean-Philippe Tison, Automotive Director at Bolloré Logistics commented: “We are implementing this structure to develop our business activity at the European level by harnessing the know-how of the teams in Le Mans. We intend to replicate the Center on other continents with a view to industrializing our automotive approach and delivering ever more agile and optimized solutions.”
