Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. has become the first logistics company in Asia to sign an agreement with Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) for “ONE LEAF+”, a sustainable shipping solution focused on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This agreement allows Yusen Logistics to procure carbon footprint savings generated by ONE and allocate them to customers seeking to reduce their Scope 3 GHG emissions.
“ONE LEAF+” utilizes biofuel derived from waste cooking oil to power vessels, resulting in environmentally friendly transportation with lower GHG emissions compared to traditional fossil fuels. Customers utilizing this solution can reduce their Scope 3 GHG emissions and receive third-party verified GHG emissions reduction certificates.
By signing this agreement, Yusen Logistics can now allocate these environmental benefits to customers using their ocean freight services, directly supporting their sustainability initiatives. This move reinforces Yusen Logistics’ commitment to providing solutions that reduce GHG emissions across customer supply chains. The company already offers services related to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in air freight and has introduced a platform for managing GHG emissions reductions.
Yusen Logistics prioritizes ESG considerations and aims to deliver unique value to stakeholders. By fostering collaboration and acting as a bridge between companies globally, Yusen Logistics seeks to contribute to the resolution of social issues and promote sustainable growth for its stakeholders and the group as a whole.
