In 2008 CEA were awarded several major Oil, Gas & Mining construction projects in Australia as project logistics service provider. By the end of the year, CEA’s workforce had grown to a complement of 30 with operational competencies sufficient to provide a total logistics solution. In 2009 CEA secured 80,000 m2 of yard and warehouse space in the heart of Laem Chabang, Chonburi. This would now serve as their head office and logistics base. Building on this success, CEA procured trucks, cranes, container handling equipment, forklifts together with a range of rigging and lifting equipment to complement their range of services.

Today CEA has seen exponential growth in operations and employs over 250 staff providing a level of service that is unequalled within the ASEAN region.

Kevin Fisher’s vision to be the industry leader and service provider for project logistics solutions is on course to be realised, CEA have expanded their fleet of equipment with an asset portfolio over US$10 million. The strategic plan for the future is to replicate the success of the business in other regions. CEA have now expanded into Songkhla and Myanmar. John Hamilton, Country Manager, has been recruited to manage operations and growth in Myanmar. CEA have secured warehousing and operations yards in Thilawar Port, the main commercial seaport in Yangon.

CEA opened the Bangkok and Central Thailand office in early 2014 to develop the project cargo market within that region, where CEA did not previously have a presence. Within a few months of opening, the office became a success securing several large projects while also supporting smaller third-party logistic customers, some of which came from existing accounts that were also serviced by CEA teams in Songkhla, Thailand, and Yangon, Myanmar. With the quick growth of customers, CEA invested further capital into warehouse facilities, equipment and transportation. Michael Parham is the Regional Manager to look after the Bangkok and Central Thailand office.

CEA are strategically placed project cargo specialists within the Asean network, providing the needed experience, knowledge and capabilities for heavy lift, oversized break-bulk shipments and other logistical challenges that are encountered when dealing with project execution. The complex requirements that encompass project cargo execution need ‘out of the box’ thinking in order to create and implement effective solutions.

The CEA project cargo team offer many value added services, one of which is an early projection transport plan, ideal for budget forecast. On-site planning meetings with the customer are crucial to ensure a planned route with the safest, most efficient method of transport, these are key factors that prove to customers again and again the value that the experienced members of CEA’s project cargo group bring each and every time.
