The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) recently announced they had expanded their EV fleet to continue with their new Strategic Master Plan of energy efficient investments. The initiative has been supported by the Clean Fuel Transition Fund for Public Fleets.
The funding enabled the Port to offset their costs for the two plug-in hybrid electric F-150s are equipped with extended range technology, along with and regenerative braking and high voltage lithium battery pack.
The F150 systems are developed by fleet electrification solutions provider, XL Fleet and provided on average a 50% increase in miles per gallon and 33% reduction in emissions. An auspicious ribbon cutting ceremony was held with project partners in attendance to celebrate the innovative clean transportation project.
President and CEO of The Port of New Orleans, Brandy D.
