Kalmar Celebrates 70,000 Units of their Ottawa Terminal Tractor

Cargotec subsidiary, Kalmar, recently celebrated a significant milestone in their history when their 70,000th Kalmar Ottawa terminal tractor rolled off the production line at Kalmar’s US manufacturing facility in Ottawa, Kansas. Employee’s and industry guests were in attendance to witness the final assembly of the truck which would enter service with Penske Truck Leasing.

Kalmar Ottawa Terminal Tractors Vice President for Solution Sales, Doug Queen said, “We continue to lead the market because of our dedicated employees, large dealer network, customer centricity and superior offering. We invented the terminal tractor in 1958 and now the Kalmar Ottawa name is the most widely known terminal tractor brand in the country, synonymous with the highest quality, value and reliability. Penske Truck Leasing has purchased a significant number of our trucks over the years, so we’re honored to share this important milestone with them.”

Penske Truck Leasing Senior Vice President, Procurement and Fleet Planning, Paul Rosa said, “Penske Truck Leasing is pleased to take delivery of the 70,000th unit from our valued supplier Kalmar Ottawa. The tractor is renowned for being a world-class trailer handling solution for all port, intermodal and distribution customers and is now available in a fully electric version. The T2E features the most advanced battery technology along with a fully electric powertrain that produces zero emissions at source.
