Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) the global container shipping company headquartered in Singapore, recently announced that the 14,000 TEU capacity ONE GRUS, has been successfully delivered at the Kure Shipyard of Japan Marine United Corporation. Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) is the sublet owners.
This is the first delivery of 2019 for ONE and their 5th newly built 14,000 TEU magenta containership, their previous delivery was the ONE COLUMBIA in November 2018. As with all ONE vessels, the ONE GRUS is fitted and equipped with state-of-the-art safety and environmentally-friendly capabilities such as structural arrest technology and highly efficient welding technology.
Due to the minimized engine-room space, the ONE GRUS employs a hull form that improves efficiency in cargo-loading. The improved structural safety is a result of the Crack Arrest Technology that is in place, additionally, the vessels main diesel engine is replete with the world’s first dual rating system” technology that allows for both high and low output rating, this increases fuel efficiency, in turn reducing greenhouse gases.
To reduce the workload of manual operator’s, the navigation bridge uses the Integrated Navigation System (INS), which consolidates functions of vessel systems. Other safety improvements include a wide window which widens visibility for vessel operators from the wing of vessel’s bridge when berthing and unberthing.
The ONE GRUS will phase in THE Alliance’s Asia to Europe 5 (FE5) service, with its port rotation Leam Chabang, Cai Mep, Singapore, Colombo, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Jeddah, Colombo, Singapore and Laem Chabang.
