One of the world’s leading shipping & logistics company that offer complete logistics, freight forwarding & marine services GAC, recently announced the opening of a new warehouse and open yard in the Middle East’s largest industrial zone, Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).
The new facility is projected to be fully operational by the end of January 2019 and will provide services for a wide range of industries, such as oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, FMCG, household effects, and specialist equipment.
GAC first opened in Abu Dhabi in 1967 and since then has built facilities at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Mina Zayed, Mussafah and Ruwais.
CEO of KIZAD, Samir Chaturvedi said, “GAC has been actively serving ship owners and operators at Khalifa Port for many years. Abu Dhabi is increasingly becoming a major global hub for logistics and shipping, and so it is only natural that a player of GAC’s scale and reputation would be looking to expand its presence in the Emirate,” Mr. Chaturvedi continued, “By joining the thriving KIZAD community, GAC becomes the latest major enterprise to realize the impact that the strategic location and exceptional infrastructure and support offered by our zone can have on their business.
“A firm such as GAC needs excellent access to transport infrastructure, including connectivity by road, sea and air, as well as flexibility to accommodate its growing warehouse needs, all of which they have found at KIZAD, and we are looking forward to helping them expand their business in Abu Dhabi even more.”
Managing Director at GAC Abu Dhabi, Göran Eriksson added, “Khalifa Port is an essential gateway to Abu Dhabi. Setting up operations at KIZAD gives us the advantage of being close to the state-of-the-art port, enabling greater operational efficiency for both GAC and our customers.”
GAC, with this new facility, joins other major logistics and shipping companies and part of this rapid development is KIZAD’s recently-launched KIZAD Logistics City.
