Kuehne + Nagel International AG recently announced the expansion of Sea Explorer their digital sea freight platform. The upgrade will result in the platform becoming a smart gateway for all liner services in container shipping.

Sea Explorer which was solely devised by Kuehne + Nagel offers digitally enabled service insights to the largest sea freight service network in the world.

The platform can now offer smart connections between more than 1,200 ports throughout the world via an advanced pathfinding algorithm.

Member of the Managing Board of Kuehne + Nagel International AG, Otto Schacht explained, “This extension takes Sea Explorer to the next level and complements Kuehne + Nagel’s intelligent sea freight offering. It is the smart platform for all liner services in container shipping. With powerful features, like comparing realistic lead times for direct services and an intuitive navigation, customers will be able to unlock new opportunities for their day-to-day operations. For the first time, a platform provides full visibility of CO2 emissions across carrier and individual services. Also in the light of the upcoming IMO 2020 regulations, this will enable shippers to contribute towards a green economy and sustainable global maritime transportation. Kuehne + Nagel leverages big data technology capabilities and information from the operational system to grant unique insights into sea transport options.”

Users can now find, visualize and compare shipment options across different carriers. Kuehne + Nagel work closely with their customers to continuously enhance Sea Explorer.
