Cargotec subsidiary Hiab Acquires Effer Cranes

Cargotec subsidiary, Hiab recently completed the acquisition Italy-based crane manufacturer Effer S.p.A. from CTE Group. The signing of the transaction was officially announced on July 31st 2018.

The new acquisition will help reinforce Hiab as the global leader in on-road load handling solutions and major step towards becoming the leader in cranes and preferred partner for their customers.

With headquarters in Minerbio, Italy, Effer is a well-respected boom crane manufacturer and employs over 400 staff. The company has a vast network to handle distribution with more than 100 dealers covering more than 60 countries around the world.  With the addition of Effer Hiab will continue to strengthen their development and innovation competencies.

Effer will become part of Hiab’s global crane’s organisation but will continue to operate under their recognized brand. Lorenzo Cipriani, Managing Director will continue his role with Effer, reporting to Hiab Senior Vice President Cranes, Joakim Andersson.

Joakim Andersson had this to say about the acquisition “I am incredibly proud today to welcome Effer and its employees as part of the Hiab family.
