One of Europe’s Leading providers of road freight services, DHL Freight have recently celebrated the grand opening of their new warehouse at the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone in Turkey.
The 38,000 m2 facility which is near the city of Izmir represents an investment of several million Euro’s and was created to feed the increasing customer demand due to the ever-growing logistics industry and economy in Turkey.
DHL Freight CEO, Uwe Brinks said, “We’re thrilled to be opening our brand-new warehouse in Manisa, we’ve chosen to make a significant investment in our own network here in order to meet our customers’ growing needs and take advantage of Turkey’s essential geographic location for logistics routes.”
Mr. Brinks led the opening ceremony along with Managing Director for DHL Freight Turkey, Hasan Kavci.
Mr. Kavic had this to say about the new facility, “Manisa hosts Turkey’s first logistics park and is home to some of the country’s leading production and import/export companies, our new warehouse provides a great opportunity to play a role in these global operations.”
Businesses in the Manisa region and surrounding areas export to more than 100 countries globally with an export volume of nearly 3.5 billion Euros for 2017. This figure results in Manisa now becoming one of the top ten export cities in the Middle Eastern country. The facility will be staffed by more than 50 warehousing and freight professionals who will offer a full scope of warehousing services along with bespoke value-added services.
