US Owned and US-based forklift truck manufacturer, Crown Equipment Corporation recently unveiled their revised GX Plus Series of entry-level internal-combustion-engine 2-3 tonne forklifts. Improvements have been made to performance, appearance and ergonomics.
The improved range now offers customers an economical yet strong performing option offering LPG and diesel engine choices. The counterweight on the vehicles has been completely redesigned to improve airflow and to maximize cooling capacity.
Drivers will now find it easier to monitor the functions of GX Plus Series forklifts due to the new revisions. A new easy-to-read instrument panel displaying fuel level, operating hours, coolant and transmission oil temperatures, alternator voltage and oil pressure.
The original GX Series was renowned for its strength, reliability and performance and the new upgrades add even more to this series of forklifts. The same reliable 3.3-litre Yanmar ‘Tier 3’ diesel engine is used for the new GX Plus series as is the 2.5-litre Mitsubishi LPG engine.
Both engines provide unbelievable performance due to the improved cooling capacity, combined with a dual-element air cleaner. Both engines are replete with a rigid transaxle and single-speed Powershift transmission to ensure low maintenance costs.
Steve Stewart, Executive Director APAC for Crown Equipment had this to say about the new range, “The GX Plus Series offers the level of reliability, performance and operator-focused ergonomics typically available from Crown, but at an entry price that makes it attractive to companies that don’t run their forklifts all day and might otherwise be considering a second-hand unit.”
“Its improved ergonomics have made it a stronger proposition for both operators and owners while its improved cooling performance makes it better suited to working in hot Southeast Asia conditions.
“The GX Series has always been a tough truck and it remains so as the GX Plus Series.”
“The GX Plus Series’ well-regarded diesel and LPG engine choices, bulletproof drivetrain and task-focused cabin mean it’s a serious proposition that will help make small businesses into bigger ones,” he said.”
Crown Equipment Corporation is the fourth largest manufacturer of powered industrial forklift trucks in the world and recorded $3.08 billion in worldwide sales revenue for the fiscal year 2017.
