Danish Global Transport and Logistics company DSV and Swedish car maker Volvo Car recently opened the doors on their new national parts warehouse for Volvo Car India, this is the first of its kind in the country.

DSV will provide a full scope of warehouse services including, customs clearance, last mile delivery to dealers in the region and value-added services.

Managing Director for Volvo Car India, Charles Frump said, “This will provide world-class customer service and support our ambition of doubling our segment share by 2020. With DSV as partners, I am confident we will reduce turnaround time for our customers. The warehouse increases liquidity at the dealers and enables them to concentrate on customers even more.”

The opening of the new facility is an important milestone for DSV and Volvo, as Volvo has long recognized the experience DSV has in supply chain solutions for the ever-increasing Asia Pacific markets.

DSV will manage, store, pick and optimise shipments to Volvo’s dealer network across the entire Indian subcontinent from the strategically located, state of the art, newly built warehouse in Bhiwandi. DSV will ensure the delivery of Volvo’s service promise to their customers.

DSV Solutions India Managing Director, Ketan Shah said, “Our core competency is the smooth execution of warehousing solutions, and the team will ensure that Volvo Car India will greatly benefit from our partnership.”

This is one of many joint ventures these companies are involved in and have a proud history of working together on a multitude of projects throughout the world since the 1980s.
