Wallenius Wilhelmsen ASA was stock listed in April 2017 on the Oslo Stock Exchange and combines the shipping assets of Wallenius Marine, Wilh Wilhelmsen, EUKOR Car Carriers and American Ro-Ro Carriers (ARC). Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, the Group currently operates around 130 vessels servicing 32 trade routes to 6 continents, a global inland distribution network, 77 processing centers, and 13 marine terminals. The consolidation of the Group companies allows the Wallenius Wilhelmsen group to provide better ocean coverage and service to their customers than they could provide as individual companies, and at the same time benefit from economies of scale and financial sustainability which makes the group stronger.

Following the successful stock listing in Oslo, the firm now operates in the market with four brands (Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions, EUKOR and ARC) with common values and where possible common procurement, sales and tonnage optimization.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) has been split into two new brands; Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean (WW Ocean) representing its ocean business and Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions (WW Solutions) for land-based logistics business. The two new companies are now independently operated, yet firmly connected in the Wallenius Wilhelmsen group.

The purpose of the rebranding was to create a new identity for WWL in line with the segregation of the Ocean and the Land Based business as well as to create enthusiasm for the new Values and strategic direction of the Company among Employees.

We spoke with Mr. Gur Prasad Kohli, Vice President, Head of Sales, South Asia, and Mr. Poomsit Khunsit, General Manager, Commercial, Thailand at Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean about their goals for the company’s rebranding efforts as well as WW Ocean Thailand’s new role.

Refreshed Logo
Following the company’s rebranding, WW Ocean and WW Solutions unveiled new logos, which are a reimagining of the original WWL logo. “Our new logo builds upon the strong and positive legacy of the names Wallenius and Wilhelmsen. The new logo has its roots with the traditional W, made up of two lines and a circle. The track-like lines symbolize the road or tracks made by automotive vehicles which is our principle product carried by our Ro-Ro vessels, and it also represents land-based logistics which our group of companies provide via WW Solutions. While the “O” stands for Ocean, it’s also associated with degrees and navigation, which is essential for ocean carrier operations. Furthermore, our sea-foam green color also represents the ocean and the grey color represents the soil or land,” said Mr. Gur.
