Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Appoint Robert Bommers as Contract Logistics COO

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics recently announced the appointment of Robert Bommers to the position of COO for their contract logistics division.

Mr. Bommers will be responsible for Hellmann’s third business unit, contract logistics, alongside the Air & Sea and Road & Rail divisions. Mr. Bommers will be a member of the Executive Board and report directly to Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Thomas Knecht.

Mr. Robert Bommers

Robert Bommers has substantial experience totaling over 25 years in management of international contract logistics. His previous role of 12 years was Managing Director for BLG Logistics Group where he was responsible for worldwide sales and tender management along with process and project management. During his tenure at BLG Mr. Bommers expedited the global expansion with a strong focus in Asia and was responsible for all overseas locations of the company.

Dr. Thomas Knecht said about the new appointment, “In Mr. Bommers, we have gained an internationally experienced manager for the global management of our Contract Logistics. His experience in the automotive industry in particular – one of our target markets in the Contract Logistics sector – is of enormous value to Hellmann. Under the leadership of Mr. Bommers, we want to further expand the Contract Logistics division globally and in particular, strengthen the core markets.”
