On 2nd April, Ocean Network Express (Thailand) held a ceremony celebrating their first exported container shipments at Bangkok Barge Terminal, the first river ICD terminal in Thailand.

Ocean Network Express or ‘ONE’ has officially commenced operations on 1st April 2018, after the merging of three carriers consisting of “K” Line, NYK and MOL announced in 2017. This follows ONE Thailand having signed contracts with Sahathai Terminal, the river terminal located on Chao Phraya river, and Bangkok Barge Terminal, the river barge terminal, on 15th March for terminal and logistics services.

The first exported container shipments of ONE from Thailand were loaded at Bangkok Barge Terminal, with the first customer utilizing the bright magenta containers being Canon Hi-Tech (Thailand). Mr. Kazumasa Sakurai, President of Canon Hi-Tech (Thailand) was one of the prestigious guests on-site to welcome and celebrate their first shipment.

Mr. Kiyoshi Tokonami, Managing Director of Ocean Network Express (Thailand) Ltd. gave a speech at this ceremony saying, “we are delighted and thankful all of you attending this welcoming event today. We are grateful to expand and provide unrivalled services to our customers in Thailand. Customers can rest assured that they will receive great service since we as ‘ONE’ always give our customers our priority. Furthermore, we are honored and thankful for our first customer Canon who supports and trusts in our services. Also, with Bangkok Barge Terminal, we believe that with their efficient terminal services and their ICD license we can seamlessly and efficiently transport our containers to Laem Chabang, connecting to our worldwide network.”
