Swiss-headquartered MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company recently announced the launch of their new freight rail service between Seville, Spain, and the Atlantic. The new service will commence on the 4th April this year.
The new service will operate daily between the inland maritime port in Seville, Puerto de Sevilla and the Sines, a major port hub on the Portuguese coastline. The service will have an operating capacity of 100 TEU for each return journey.
Shippers have the option to acquire their cargo customs clearance at Seville’s inland maritime port before onward journey to Sines and the Atlantic markets and regions.
The new service implemented by MSC will offer improved connectivity and transit times for exporters located in the southern and western regions of Spain and will enable them to reach markets in the Americas and northern Europe. International importers supplying Spanish markets will also benefit greatly from the new service.
MSC will operate the service in conjunction with their Iberian logistics subsidiary company Medway.
