Crown Delivers XPO Logistics a Competitive Advantage in Thailand

Crown Equipment is assisting XPO Logistics with managing high work-flow stock movement for a number of prominent global brands at its Thailand operations.

Crown has been supplying XPO Logistics with equipment since 2010, and the company is running a total of 20 lift trucks at its busy Bangkok and Rayong locations. XPO Logistics is managing stock on behalf of major brands with the help of a full suite of Crown material handling equipment that includes reach trucks, counterbalance forklifts, power pallet trucks, Wave work assist vehicles and walkie stackers._DSC3523

XPO Logistics Supply Chain Country Manager, Trong Worraprecha, said: “In terms of efficiency, equipment is the key for us. In our environment we have people, we have equipment and we have systems; these three things have to go together. We started using Crown more than five years ago and we’ve developed a strong relationship with Crown because of their ability to provide the right solutions. Crown has so many models that can help our daily operations as well as telemetry fleet management solutions. These provide efficiency and productivity and result in a competitive advantage for ourselves and also our customers. We designed our operations to fit with the environment, to fit with the customers’ requirements and to fit with the productivity that we have to deliver and Crown helps us to achieve this.”

Mr. Worraprecha went on to explain how Crown Equipment plays an important role in fine-tuning the mix of equipment used at XPO Logistics’ Thailand facilities. “Different models have different strengths and we need to make sure that we know which kind of equipment will be best suited for each purpose. For example, the Crown RM reach truck has a single-column mast which can help us with visibility and lifting speeds so we use it for picking stock at height. Its speed for lifting loads up and down is very fast. This detail can help us with higher productivity and efficiency.”

Mr Worraprecha also said that the service offered by Crown Equipment is an important factor in the ongoing relationship between the two companies. “Crown staff visit us regularly to ensure that our equipment can run smoothly every day with no downtime. We don’t have any record of downtime, so that is a great thing. We believe that our partnership with Crown can help us deliver high efficiency and productivity with telemetry and fleet management solutions. We believe this will become even stronger in the future.”
