Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) is set to launch a new Korea-Vietnam-Cambodia direct service to enhance its market power in Intra-Asia. HMM brands the service ‘CTX (China-Thailand-Express)’.
The CTX service calls at Tianjin, Busan, Gwangyang, Shanghai, Hochiminh, Sihanoukville, Laem Chabang, and Manila. It turns 3 weeks using four 2,200 TEU container vessels: Hyundai Bridge, Hyundai Future, Hyundai Highway, and Hyundai Vladivostok. Hyundai Vladivostok starts its first service on March 10th at Hyundai Pusan New Port Terminal, and it will return to Sun-kwang Newport Container Terminal in Incheon on the 31st of this month.
From Busan to Hochiminh and to Laem Chabang, it will take six days and ten days respectively. It will take eight days from Busan to Sihanoukville (Cambodia), so it is expected that HMM can provide a rapid service to its customers in these markets.
HMM officials said “This is a direct service connecting Korea-Cambodia, and it only takes eight days to Sihanoukville. With this service, HMM can meet the high supply demands in the Intra-Asia region.”
